Not only do Taiwanese people love night market food, but even foreign tourists visiting Taiwan can't resist diving into the various night markets to sample all kinds of snacks. According to statistics from the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation, 74% of foreign visitors to Taiwan go to night markets; and for tourists, night market snacks are the most representative of Taiwan’s culinary culture. The "Taiwan's Top 10 Night Market Food PK" campaign, organized by the Tourism Bureau, invited the public to vote online for their favorite and most iconic night market snacks. After the first round of voting, 30 classic and 20 innovative dishes were selected, and the second round of voting ran from July 1 to 31, featuring a total of 50 dishes competing in the showdown. Participants who voted during the event period also had the chance to win prizes such as smartphones and tablets.

The second phase of the "Taiwan's Top 10 Night Market Food PK" online voting campaign will feature a face-off between 20 innovative night market foods such as Golden Thief, Piggy Box, and Exploding Tamagoyaki, and 30 classic night market foods including oyster omelet, pig’s blood cake, and oyster vermicelli. The public is invited to vote online for their favorite night market dishes. In addition, to encourage participation, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation has prepared a variety of great prizes. By voting for their favorite night market food during the campaign period, participants have the chance to win big prizes such as smartphones, tablets, and dash cams.
