Save on summer family trips: Taiwan High Speed Rail is launching the “Youth Discount Program” from now until September 1. Passengers aged 12 to 18 can enjoy 50% or 70% discounts when traveling in standard class reserved seats on designated high-speed rail services. In addition, the high-speed rail company is offering extra rewards to reward multi-ride ticket users. Passengers who purchase a multi-ride ticket between August 1 and October 31 and complete all 8 rides will receive an additional half-price free-seat ticket as a bonus.

Taiwan High Speed Rail stated that there are 249 eligible services per week under the “Youth Discount Program”; of these, 91 services offer 50% off and 158 offer 70% off. Passengers aged 12 to 18 can present a valid ID with their name, photo, and date of birth at station ticket windows during the campaign period to purchase tickets and enjoy the above discounts. Only one discounted ticket can be purchased per ID per trip.
At the same time, Taiwan High Speed Rail is offering additional rewards for multi-ride ticket users. Those who purchase or renew a multi-ride ticket between August 1 and October 31 and complete all rides can, before December 31, visit any station ticket window with their multi-ride ticket to exchange for one free-seat ticket on the same route and on the same day at a 50% discount. Ride counts are calculated based on the number of rides from a single multi-ride ticket purchase — rides from different multi-ride ticket purchases cannot be combined.
