This summer, Beitou will shine with culinary stardom. The Villa 32 is once again inviting Italian Michelin three-star chef Massimo Bottura to visit. Since earning its second Michelin star in 2006, Chef Bottura has won numerous top gastronomy awards over the years, and in April of this year, he was ranked third on the "World’s 50 Best Restaurants" list (organized by the UK’s Restaurant magazine in collaboration with sparkling water company San Pellegrino).

Chef Bottura draws significant inspiration for his cooking from travel, so the dishes he will present at Villa 32 are inspired by his hometown, Italy, with “Travel with Me” as the creative theme. For example: “Aula in carpione” (“Travel with Me”) interprets the traditional preserved flavor of fish marinated in vinegar and spices from the Po River area in northern Italy using the Japanese cooking technique of tempura; “A burned sardine” recreates the Spanish traditional ritual of burning sardines to mark the end of winter — it features red mullet stuffed with lobster meat, coated with a charcoal-infused sauce to symbolize the burning sardines; “Hello Kitty” is an incredibly sweet dessert where the chef wraps hibiscus mousse in a crispy cherry dacquoise, forming a small round treat that, like the pink Hello Kitty, always brings joy to everyone.

From August 2 to August 7, Chef Bottura will be the guest chef at Villa 32 in Beitou, serving up star-worthy delicacies. There are limited seats available for those who wish to enjoy the summer feast crafted by this Italian culinary master.
