Family Fun: Coloring the Creative World in Rainbow Hues
Xu Dezong, who founded LAC Art Industry in Yilan 32 years ago, has produced stable-quality, affordable crayons, chalk, colored pencils, and body painting materials with his professional expertise and never-say-die spirit. These supplies not only allowed us as children to pick up crayons and colored pencils to create imaginary worlds on paper. Visitors can learn about the production process of crayons and colored pencils through detailed guided tours in a comfortable environment, and enjoy a variety of activities—including a Starlight Boulevard costume show, painting graffiti, and DIY experiences—that are fun for the whole family. It’s arguably the hottest tourist spot in Yilan in recent years.

Stroll Through the Wetlands at Laogang Village and Try Fabric Dyeing
Plant-based fabric dyeing DIY is a fun activity for the whole family. First, you twist collected leaves to extract their juice, then use the resulting dye on prepared white fabric. Next, tie the fabric tightly with thread and boil it in a large pot for about half an hour to produce a unique, beautiful piece of dyed cloth. It can be used as a headscarf, bandana, tablecloth, and more—both practical and commemorative. The entire process is natural and pollution-free, opening kids' eyes to new experiences.
