Japan is a popular travel destination among Taiwanese people, and Japanese goods continue to be widely loved. Every time department stores hold Japanese product fairs or traditional culture festivals, they create a huge sensation. This time, department store operators have teamed up with Japan’s currently most popular mascot “KUMAMON (クマモン)” as the main attraction, using KUMAMON designs for everything from welcome gifts to bonus gifts for reaching spending thresholds, prompting many KUMAMON fans and Japan travel enthusiasts to plan their visit to the exhibition and shopping trip.

The traditional culture exhibition runs from October 8 to October 20. On October 9, cardholders receive a KUMAMON mug as a welcome gift. From October 11 to 12, cardholders who spend above a certain amount will receive a KUMAMON foldable shopping bag as a bonus gift. From October 16 to 18, cardholders who visit will receive a set of three KUMAMON file folders as a welcome gift.

In addition, there will be KUMAMON meet-and-greet events, held at the main entrance of Sogo Department Store Zhongxiao Branch from October 12 to 13 (at 14:30, 16:30, and 18:30), and at the KUMAMON shop on the 11th floor (at 15:00, 17:00, and 19:00). A variety of KUMAMON merchandise also awaits fans to choose and purchase.

The autumn-winter traditional culture exhibition, as usual, offers multiple Japanese food stalls in Taiwan, allowing the public to enjoy a mini-trip to Japan. In addition to selected delicacies such as ramen, seafood, and bento, there is also a dessert showdown between Tokyo and Osaka. Yoshimoto Kogyo, famous for its comedy, presents authentic Osaka-produced delicious goods from the Kansai region, competing with desserts from the Tokyo area in the Kanto region. Traditional Japanese craft exhibitions and pottery products will also be sold on-site. Mount Fuji, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in June this year, will also host a “World Cultural Heritage ~ Mount Fuji Photo Exhibition” at this traditional culture exhibition. Those who love Japanese travel and Japanese products can enjoy Japanese cuisine and goods here without having to take a flight.
