The most anticipated annual travel event — the ITF Taipei International Travel Fair — opens today through the 21st at the 1st and 2nd floors of Hall 1 and Hall 3 at Taipei World Trade Center. Since this year’s fair starts a week earlier than usual and the Lunar New Year next year falls at the end of January, travel agencies and airlines have launched early discount battles on both domestic and international routes and airfares to attract customers, with short-haul trips available for under NT$10,000 and savings of over NT$10,000 on long-haul ones. Autumn and winter foliage viewing, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and itineraries for next year’s winter vacation and Chinese New Year are available for early booking, especially those departing soon at clearance prices, with early bird discounts also offered for flight bookings.
