The joyful Western ghost festival—Halloween—is just around the corner, and entertainment activities are popping up everywhere. Taipei Expo Park will hold the “Expo Fright Fest,” which includes seven major events such as a Halloween market, costume contest, Halloween parade, and a scary night concert. The concert will feature artists like Lala Hsu, Jia Jia, Jam Hsiao, Wei Wei, and Wei Lilan performing in spooky style. The Tianshou Business District Development Association is holding its 5th “Tianshou What the Ghost Halloween Carnival.” This year’s street event features superheroes like Iron Man and Spider-Man accompanying kids and families to battle monsters, along with 3,000 limited-edition “pumpkin buckets.” It also combines local shops and department stores to offer activities such as “So Spooky, So Good Deals,” “Black Magic Show,” and “Halloween Horror Cinema.” Additionally, Yangmingshan Tianlai is offering a haunted house stay experience, while Taipei Main Station is creating its first ever AR-enhanced “Frightening Virtual Haunted House” within its shopping mall. By downloading the game app, visitors can use their phones to explore the haunted house and find ghostly items. Taipei Zoo and the Republic of China Sports & Leisure Promotion Association will also host a Halloween party and a Halloween fun run, filling Taipei with festive Halloween cheer.

Expo Fright Fest
With Halloween just around the corner, Taipei Expo Park is kicking up its spooky spirit. On October 26, it will host seven major events: the “Trick or Treat Halloween Market,” costume contest, Halloween parade, special ghost makeup experiences & DIY pumpkin painting, street performers’ scare carnival, an exciting “Fright Challenge Game Zone,” and the grand finale “Scary Night Concert.” The concert, starting at 7:00 PM, will feature the top three contestants from the Expo’s Star Voice competition in both the vocal and creative categories, as well as the fan favorite. It will also welcome artists like Lala Hsu, Jia Jia, Jam Hsiao, Wei Wei, and Wei Lilan to perform in spooky style. Admission is free, and there will be special Halloween photo gifts at the venue.

Yangmingshan Tianlai Offers Haunted House Stay Experience
Yangmingshan Tianlai Resort Hotel is offering a limited-time, limited-quantity haunted house experience. With uniquely designed decor, it creates an atmosphere where ghosts seem to come alive, giving guests an exciting thrill of staying in a haunted house. The “Dracula Room” haunted house package includes five portions of a nutritious breakfast, Mongolian barbecue dinner, and Halloween blood-red drinks, along with trick-or-treat candy for participating in the trick-or-treat parade. Guests can also visit the distorted recreation room for a bravery-testing challenge. For just NT$4,000 per person, you get food, lodging, and fun.
In addition, Yangmingshan Tianlai is also offering “Horror Cuisine,” where classic Italian dishes are transformed into terrifying organ-shaped meals—you might accidentally eat a finger. The Blue Magpie Lounge Bar is also serving up blood-red cocktails that are sure to surprise. Pastry chefs have used their creativity to make treats that replace horror with cuteness, incorporating various Halloween designs. The “Dark Graveyard” series of desserts uses rich chocolate cake as a base, with hearty ingredients in every bite. The “Scream Pastry Corner” is also offering takeout pastries. From October 25 to 31, elf muffins (4 pcs) are NT$100, and pumpkin cakes (4 pcs) are NT$250—you can celebrate the festive season at home with a strong Western holiday vibe.

5th Tianshou What the Ghost Halloween Carnival – League of Heroes
This year marks the 5th edition of the Tianshou What the Ghost Halloween Carnival, taking place from October 25 to 27 at Tianshou Sports Park and other locations over three days. This year’s street event is themed around popular “movie heroes,” featuring superheroes like Iron Man and Spider-Man who will accompany kids and families to battle monsters. There will also be a Halloween-exclusive Tianshou market, a “Haunted Castle” on the 7th floor of New York New York Department Store Tianshou Branch A, and a “Trick or Treat” event in collaboration with 200 Tianshou Business District partner stores.

Taipei Main Station’s Virtual Frightening Haunted House
Catering to young people’s love for online and mobile games, Taipei Main Station has created its first-ever AR-integrated “Frightening Virtual Haunted House” within its shopping mall. Starting now until October 31, visitors can download the game app in front of the haunted house setup and use their phones to explore the haunted house, finding ghostly items through the app. Unexpected ghost appearances will occur during the game. Those who find three ghostly items will receive a ghost face filter. By pointing the filter at their face, users can see their own spooky transformation and share it on Facebook to join the fun with friends.
