The 2013 Nantou Hot Spring Festival will be held successively in three major hot spring areas starting November 2. The limited-edition “999 Cozy Happiness Bags” also went on sale today (31st) at 10:00 AM at the first-floor lobby of the Nantou County Government. This year, to promote the three major hot spring areas of Nantou, the “Hot Girls Lead the Fun Troupe” is launched for the first time, inviting popular and energetic hot girls Li Ying, Lolita, and Molly to respectively represent the fun travel itineraries of the three major hot spring areas. The three hot girl guides will personally introduce the highest-quality hot springs and attractions to netizens.

The three major hot spring areas—Guoxing Beikengxi, Dongpu, and Puli—each with their unique characteristics and charm, will compete for the first time this year. Three popular hot girls with large online fan bases have been invited to respectively represent the three major hot spring areas of Nantou and promote the unique travel experiences developed in each area. Among them, Li Ying, known as the “Shih Hsin Little Kym,” represents Puli’s “Taste of Puli” tour, taking visitors to enjoy local snacks. The stylish and graceful college girl Lolita, who rose to fame on the show “College Students Are Talking,” represents the Dongpu Hot Spring Area and will take people to admire the majestic Yushan Mountain and join the torch-lit street parade. The athletic Molly from the Sports Institute represents Guoxing Beikengxi’s “Hero Chief Journey,” guiding visitors to explore indigenous communities and experience the culture of the Seediq people. The public can vote online for the three hot girl-led itineraries in the three hot spring areas, with a chance to win free participation in the guided tour led by the hot girls.
In addition, the Nantou Hot Spring Festival has specially collaborated with businesses in the three hot spring areas—Puli, Beikengxi, and Dongpu—to launch a limited edition of 100 “999 Cozy Happiness Bags.” Each bag offers the chance to receive accommodations vouchers, hot spring soaking vouchers, local specialties, or exclusive souvenirs provided by individual hot spring operators, with a guaranteed value of over NT$1,000. Any unsold bags at the county government lobby today will be available at the three series of hot spring area events. Additionally, they will be auctioned starting at one dollar through the “Happy Trip Nantou” Facebook fan page.
The series of Nantou hot spring area activities will kick off first this Saturday (November 2) at the Tayal Resort in the Guoxing Beikengxi Hot Spring Area, opening with a prayer song and dance performance by the Seediq tribe. The lively evening party and local specialty exhibition not only offer great hot springs to soak in but also include DIY workshops and cultural tours. On November 9, the most bustling yukata and torch-lit street parade in the Dongpu Hot Spring Area will feature traditional Bunun tribe singing and dancing, as well as free tastings of local delicacies such as millet wine and grilled wild boar. On November 16, Puli’s Lotus Pond will host the “iSlow Play – Puli Hot Spring Intellectual Journey,” specially designed for cycling enthusiasts. The event includes hot spring cuisine and creative markets, and the outdoor spa at Tianquan Hot Spring Club will also be open for free on the day of the event for the public to enjoy hot spring soaking.
In addition to the special activities in the three major hot spring areas, other prize-winning fun events are also set to begin soon. These include a temperature discount battle where the hotter the weather, the cheaper the hot spring soaking, hot spring stamp collecting for gifts, a one-dollar keyboard auction, and photo-sharing activities at the hot spring enjoyment promotional boards.
