The Little Yellow Duck set to arrive in Keelung on December 21st isn’t just about seeing the adorable duck itself—there’s also a whole host of surrounding activities. In total, there are 5 major themed zones, including a spinning music duck, balloon art creations such as the Lucky Duck, a Fun Duck for food and entertainment, an Artistic Duck that blends culture and cuisine, and a Windmill Duck made up of 100,000 windmills. This allows duck fans to not only celebrate Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Lunar New Year with the yellow duck over the 50-day exhibition period but also to explore Keelung City in depth.

Ocean Plaza — The World’s First 360-Degree Spinning Music Duck
The 18-meter-tall Little Yellow Duck set to appear at Ocean Plaza by the Keelung organizing committee features a custom-made floating platform that can rotate 360 degrees, making Keelung’s Little Yellow Duck uniquely stand out like a spinning music box. This allows duck fans to encounter the Little Yellow Duck face-on from any angle and experience its charming appeal. Additionally, a “Duck Fans’ Energy Gathering” event will be held, where the most popular zone will determine the duck’s rotation angle.
Keelung Harbor Bureau Building — A Balloon Art Wonderland: The Lucky Duck
This year’s event has also invited balloon artist Li Cheng... to use 100,000 colorful balloons to transform the Harbor Bureau into a balloon duck wonderland, with 7 major exhibition areas. Upon entering, you’ll find a magical tunnel, followed by giant bathtubs and bathrooms that reflect the original intention behind Florentijn Hofman’s creation of the Little Yellow Duck. Additionally, in response to Keelung’s local Miaokou characteristics, a world-renowned piece, the “Land God Temple,” is recreated, allowing the public to see firsthand the exceptional combination of balloon art and traditional craftsmanship. At the center of the main scene, you’ll find Santa Claus and a snowman, the Yuan Family, a giant Angry Bird attack, a horse celebrating the New Year, and a balloon duck standing 6 meters tall. There is also a sales area for Little Yellow Duck merchandise, featuring Christmas-themed Happy Ducks and Chinese New Year’s Lucky Wealth Ducks.
Yangming Marine Culture and Arts Museum — The Artistic Duck: A World of Art and Cuisine
At the historically significant Yangming Marine Culture and Arts Museum—a key representation of Keelung’s marine cultural art—a special “Little Yellow Duck Around the World Exhibition” is being held to guide duck fans in exploring the duck world. An “Aya Creative Market” and “Aya Box Treasure” event will also take place in the Marine Culture Art Gallery.
In addition, floors one and four of the cultural museum, operated by Junpin Hotel, offer refined cuisine with Little Duck-themed meals and snacks. There’s also a 24-hour banquet venue available for hosting Christmas parties, New Year’s Eve dinners, year-end parties, or Lunar New Year gatherings. The hotel has also partnered with the local Keelung Fisheries Association to launch the “Duck Axis Banquet”—a full-duck feast in the banquet hall. On the first floor, there’s a popular hot pot dish for winter: the “Chicken & Duck Talk Hot Pot,” which combines sesame oil chicken and ginger duck in a tai chi-style pot, offering a chance to enjoy delicious food while taking in the best full view of the Little Yellow Duck.

Ocean Heart Square — A World of Food, Fun, and Happiness: The Happy Duck
Ocean Heart Square (formerly the East Coast Parking Lot) at the intersection of Ren’ai 2nd Road in Keelung has nearly 250 food and fun stalls on its first and second floors, with the second-floor outdoor area offering the best viewing spot for the Little Yellow Duck and helping you avoid the crowds at Ocean Plaza. During the event, the Happy Duck exhibition area will hold Christmas charity sales and limited-edition giveaways during the Lunar New Year. Visitors can also get a free lottery ticket by stamping their passports at the Happy Duck service desk to join weekly lucky draw events. A Happy Little Duck mailbox is also set up, allowing people to send commemorative postcards and spread the love and happiness of the Little Yellow Duck to their loved ones.
Yongheng Cultural & Creative Park — The Windmill Duck: A Giant Land Art Showcasing the Duck’s Many Faces
The world-rare giant Little Yellow Duck land art made up of 100,000 wish windmills is located in the beautifully mountainous “Yongheng Cultural & Creative Park” in Keelung. The land art spans nearly 90 meters in both width and height, drawing waves of admiration from visitors when the wind blows. The developer of “Yongheng Cultural & Creative Park,” the Kuo Tung Group, is also applying for a Guinness World Record for this unique windmill duck and has launched a campaign for companies and individuals to adopt and create windmills that form part of the duck’s design, helping disadvantaged groups in Keelung.
