Panda enthusiasts, 1,600 paper panda sculptures created by French artist Paulo Grangeon will soon be exhibited in early March next year at Taipei City Hall Plaza. When the time comes, this massive and adorable army of pandas is set to completely capture the hearts of fans.

The 1,600 pandas by French artist Paulo Grangeon have previously appeared in cities such as Paris, Bordeaux (France), Berlin, and Frankfurt (Germany), where they captivated locals everywhere. Now, this super-cute army of pandas, made from eco-friendly paper pulp, is heading to Taipei. Each panda is about the size of a medium-sized dog. The exhibition not only raises awareness that there are only 1,600 giant pandas left in the world, but also plans to display 200 Formosan black bears alongside the pandas to draw attention to the conservation of Taiwan’s native bear species. After the exhibition, all displayed works are expected to be auctioned off for charity, with all proceeds donated to non-profit organizations as conservation funds.
