With less than two weeks to go until New Year’s Eve, this year’s “Taipei Highest High New Year’s Eve Party 2014” not only features an all-star lineup of top artists and supergroups, but also goes international — with a live broadcast connection to Japan’s NHK. International superstar Fukuyama Masaharu will be performing live from his Yokohama concert and interacting with the Taipei countdown event.

This year’s Taipei countdown goes global, syncing live with Japan’s NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen and Fukuyama Masaharu’s concert in Yokohama for a tri-city simulcast. Japanese music icon Fukuyama Masaharu is making his first overseas performance as a musician, designing an exclusive show just for Taipei’s countdown. He will also interact directly with the live audience in Taipei. Additionally, this year’s Taipei countdown expands its overseas streaming platforms, exclusively partnering with global video streaming service Viki, and in the Chinese-speaking world, collaborating with seven major video platforms — iQiyi, Tencent, Storm Media, Xunlei Video, LeTV, PPTV, and PPS. The broadcast will reach all five continents, with an estimated audience of over 100 million people tuning in simultaneously to watch the 2014 Taipei New Year’s Eve Party.
Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-pin stated that this year’s Taipei countdown breaks precedent not only with a stellar lineup including Blue Lan, Jolin Tsai, Yoga Lin, Wei Bird, Liu Ziqian, Bii, Dream Girls, Lin Meixiu, Ma Nianxian, Chairman Band, Luan Tan A-Xiang, Wilber Pan, and SHE — but also invites elites from various fields. Among them, the Ministry of National Defense’s Tri-Service Military Band has designed a special performance exclusively for the Taipei countdown, aiming to inspire and uplift everyone to embrace the new year with a more positive and proactive attitude. Taiwan’s pride Yang Dai-kang, along with CPBL heroes Luo Jin-long, Lin Chih-sheng, Chen Yong-chi, Kao Chih-kang, Chu Shih-chi, Yang Yao-hsun, and Kuo Yen-wen, will also join the celebration to mark Taipei’s countdown. With the limitless drive and dedication to their dreams shown by these baseball players, the Taipei countdown will radiate even more positive energy, motivating and touching everyone.
Additionally, the “Taipei City Government” official LINE account has been launched, allowing the public to receive the latest and fastest updates on countdown events and municipal services. Starting now, simply add the city government’s official account as a friend to enter a lucky draw. Those who join before December 25th will also have the chance to win seats in the countdown exclusive zone and enjoy an up-close experience of the New Year’s Eve Party.
