Zhongli’s Heartwarming Christmas Series of Events Runs for 11 Days Through New Year’s Eve

As the year draws to a close, Christmas events are kicking off across the country, with New Year’s Eve celebrations also being announced one after another. Although Zhongli City has canceled its long-running annual Zhongli Countdown Party this year, it will be replaced by the “2013 Heartwarming Christmas & New Year Series of Events,” which will kick off on the evening of tomorrow (the 21st). In addition to live performances by Jam Hsiao and Jolin Tsai tomorrow night, themed nights are planned from December 22 to 30 in the evenings. The festive and joyful Christmas atmosphere will continue all the way through to New Year’s Eve, with artists such as Show Luo performing at Zhongzheng Park on December 31 to ring in the new year with the public. They’ll count down together to welcome the 2014 New Year’s Day flag-raising and hiking event at Taoyuan High-Speed Rail Station.

First up, the Christmas Night on the evening of December 21 from 19:00 to 23:00 at the plaza in front of Zhongli City Library will feature performances by Jolin Tsai, Jam Hsiao, Richie Jen, Eddie Peng, Bii, Jackie Chou, Amber An, Bai An, and Ding Dang. On December 31, the “Renhai Temple Matsu Prayer & Thanksgiving Countdown Night” at Zhongzheng Park in Zhongli City will run from 19:00 to 00:30. Artists including Show Luo, Tzu-Chien Tseng, as well as past contestants from Super Idol and Chinese Million Star Season 3 such as Luo Ping and Guo Shaohsuan, along with cheerleaders from the Brother Elephants, Lamigo Monkeys, and Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions baseball teams, will join the public to enjoy a dazzling fireworks show and celebrate the countdown to the new year.
