Kaohsiung’s urban beauty and cultural arts take the CNN stage once again, letting the world “see Kaohsiung” simultaneously. The American cable network CNNGO will premiere “The Beauty of Kaohsiung Harbor City” tonight (15th) at 18:30. The program includes exploring the city’s artistic energy, visiting tourist attractions and night market delicacies, showcasing leisure life and diverse culture, and taking viewers on a journey through Kaohsiung’s friendly and livable urban charm. Additionally, CNN’s website features a special article on Kaohsiung today, highlighting the Pier-2 Art Center, Sanba Residences, Hongmaogang Cultural Park, Dadong Arts Center, Shoushan Lover’s Viewpoint, and Cijin as the top five highlights of the city.

CNNGO launches a global city travel series every month, each episode lasting 30 minutes and showcasing each city’s unique features and popular attractions to attract local, international tourists, business travelers, and backpackers. Late last year, the team traveled to Kaohsiung specifically to film the 2013 Big Rainbow Music Festival, which blends pop, indie, hip-hop, and rock music. They also visited the Pier-2 Art Center, now a southern Taiwan art hub, transformed from former idle dock warehouses.

The special showcases the historical and cultural evolution of Kaohsiung, such as the Hongmaogang Cultural Park, which was transformed into a harbor-memory preservation area after residents were relocated in 2007, and the modern Dadong Arts Center, an ideal venue for artistic performances. Both old history and new architecture help extend Kaohsiung’s cultural energy globally.
Famed seafood and singer Huang Xiaohu recalling her childhood favorite spot, Cijin, are featured through the lens, with a full display of traditional and night market dishes. CNNGO also visits the newly built LOVE Viewpoint in 2013, offering a panoramic view of Kaohsiung Harbor, where people of all ages can soak in the romantic atmosphere.
