The "King Cherry Blossom" of Alishan blooms at 80% — check real-time flower conditions via the APP

 

Since 2012, the Chiayi Forest Management Office has been promoting forest literature by inviting contemporary poets to write about Alishan. They have also used materials like basalt to carve poetry steles, creating the "Zhapoping Park Poetry Trail." The office particularly recommends flower viewers to stroll through Zhapoping Park and appreciate the beauty of Alishan’s flowers, landscapes, and ecology through poetic words. It also suggests that visitors who wish to take a leisurely tour of the park can visit the Zhushan Alpine Botanical Garden to enjoy travel photography works by Mr. Wen Yaohsing, spending a relaxing afternoon in an artistic atmosphere. For those wanting to enjoy outdoor music, elegant tunes can be heard at the King Cherry Blossom Platform on March 17, 24, and 31 in the mornings. Visitors should also take advantage of the flower seasonwith the limited Chengping Line train service every Wednesday (March 19, 26, and April 2, 9),to capture classic images of steam trains weaving through blossoms and treetops.

 

Visitors planning to drive up the mountain in Class A or B buses should apply for entry in advance via the Alishan Group Tourist Diversion Reservation website. Those planning to visit Alishan during flower season holidays before the end of March should pay attention to the traffic control measures for Alishan Flower Season implemented by the Directorate General of Highways, Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
