The Calla Lily Season at Zhuzihu is about to begin, and this area in Beitou District features a rich variety of natural ecological landscape resources. The Department of Land has developed managed industrial roads in the region by creating scenic spots and upgrading road infrastructure, integrating local characteristics to develop diverse attractions. Chen Sheng-yi, Chief Engineer of the Department of Land Engineering, stated that this year the department has created several new attractions in Zhuzihu, such as the Calla Lily Pavilion at the Shuwei Bridgehead on Calla Lily Avenue and the Calla Lily Pedestrian Bridge. In addition to effectively improving pedestrian and vehicle safety, these have also become great spots to stop and enjoy the scenery.

Visitors to Zhuzihu are first greeted by calla lily-themed guardrails—an aesthetic yet safety-conscious design that replaces the previously dull and rigid Jersey barriers, making the roads more lively and visually appealing. Additionally, in the “Black Forest,” a famous spot for wedding photography known for its tall, straight cedar trees, the Department of Land has installed a heart-shaped art piece symbolizing pure love. Chen Yan-cheng, Senior Engineer of the Road and Trail Section at the Department of Land Engineering, pointed out that after completing this oversized heart, it added a fairytale-like romantic ambiance, attracting many couples to take photos and create cherished memories. In the future, additional attractions such as the Green Maple Trail and the Penglai Rice Revival Field will be completed, along with continued enhancements to the landscape of industrial roads in the area.

Cao Chang-zheng, Chief of Huotian Village, noted that the industrial roads managed by the Department of Land within Zhuzihu each have their own unique features. For example, the main route of Zhuzihu features a cherry blossom avenue stretching for miles—whether it’s the magnificent sight of thousands of pink blossoms in full bloom or the romantic scene of petals gently falling, it captivates all who visit. The Calla Lily fields along the branch route of Zhuzihu are always the most densely visited areas, where numerous specialty restaurants allow visitors to savor fresh mountain vegetables while enjoying the local stream ecology and terraced field landscapes. Walking along the riverside trail in the Dinghu section of Zhuzihu offers a distant view of the sulfur vapors rising from Little Oil Pit, immersing you in a serene and romantic atmosphere.

For transportation, visitors can take Bus Xiao-9 or transfer to Bus 131 at Yangmingshan Park and get off at Shuwei Bridge, easily immersing themselves in the ethereal and romantic ambiance of Taipei’s “Back Garden” and experiencing the four-season charm of Zhuzihu.
