Bluebells bloom at Zhuzihhu Lake—Taipei’s mountain town showcases its dreamy beauty once again

In 2014, the Zhuzihhu Bluebell Festival series of events carries the theme “Dream Bluebells · Dream Fields,” in response to the Zhuzihhu community’s achievement of winning the Bronze Award in the City Category of the International Awards for Liveable Communities, often dubbed the “Green Oscars.” This year, the bluebell landscape floral designs primarily aim to transform the bluebell farms into scenes from the “childhood dreams” of the farmers, while also evoking visitors’ memories and dreams of home—for instance, “Clouds’ Journey,” imagining traveling with dreams under the blessings of bluebells, or “Dreams of the Primitive Era,” reminiscing about old times and returning to the original touching moments of Zhuzihhu. Additionally, at the Zhuzihhu entrance parking lot, the city government’s mascot “Yuánzǎi” the panda is integrated into the storytelling scene, combined with the beauty of bluebells, to create flower landscapes with different atmospheres where visitors can take photos.

 

 

It is worth mentioning that the farm owner, Gao Yuxuan, has refrained from allowing visitors to pick flowers for two consecutive years in order to maintain the flower sea landscape within the park. He hopes that visitors hiking up the mountain can simply stroll along the stream trail and be surrounded by vast stretches of white flowers, enjoying the dreamy atmosphere of the mountain bluebell fields. Furthermore, real-time flower condition information will be provided this year.
