Nature-loving travelers can explore the Pingxi and Jingmei areas, where the Pingxi Police Station's Policemen’s Sky Lantern event has added extra shows. For those wanting to immerse themselves in an artsy atmosphere, the 2014 Tainan Arts Festival runs from now until June 20th, featuring up to 185 performances of drama, dance, and music across Tainan City — guaranteed to be a treat.

Taipei City — Yangmingshan Flower Testing Center in Full Bloom
The Taipei City Park Department’s Flower Testing Center on Yangmingshan is currently in full bloom, featuring fragrant native azaleas like Shoucheng Man Shan Hong, magnolia, and tuberose, as well as spring blooms such as red crane orchids and irises that attract many butterflies. Families are welcome to visit. As there is no parking nearby, visitors can take bus routes 260, 303, Red 5, or Royal Bus Jinshan Line to Shanzihhou Police Station stop, then walk about 3 minutes to reach the Flower Testing Center next to the gas station.

Taipei City — Zhuzihhu Calla Lily Season Draws Crowds
The Zhuzihhu Calla Lily Season runs from now until April 27th in Zhuzihhu. This year, the Taipei City Public Works Bureau, Department of Urban Development, recommends five scenic streamside trails: "Dinghu Circular Trail," "Calla Lily Circular Trail," "Literary Trail," "Hudi Circular Trail," and "Zhuzihhu Circular Trail." These paths allow calla lily enthusiasts to stroll amidst nature, enjoy the fresh forest air, and leisurely wander through seas of white calla lilies.

New Taipei City — Pingxi Policemen’s Sky Lantern Adds Extra Shows
The "Pingxi Police Station Policemen’s Sky Lantern" event, which opened to acclaim on White Day this year, will add more shows starting April 10th to let more visitors experience the charm of customized LED wish sky lanterns. Shows now start at 4:00 PM daily, featuring hourly sky lantern displays and personalized LED wish lanterns for visitors.

Tainan City — 2014 Tainan Arts Festival Continues
Taiwan’s most local, international, and literary arts festival — the "2014 Tainan Arts Festival" — runs from now until June 20th, spanning over two months. A total of 59 groups from Taiwan and 10 other countries will stage up to 185 performances of drama, dance, and music across Tainan City. The Tainan City Cultural Affairs Bureau states that "International Classics, Taiwanese Excellence, and Urban Stages" are the three main themes of this year’s festival, connected through literature, making it Taiwan’s most local, international, and literary arts event. The "Festival Night" kicks off on April 12th at 6:30 PM at Nanying Green Heart Plaza, with the "West Side Story Film Symphony Concert" grandly opening the "International Classics" section of the 2014 Tainan Arts Festival.
