Ms. Srisuda Wanapinyosak, Director of the East Asia Region of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said: “In 2013, Taiwan visitors to Thailand exceeded 500,000, and the ratio of independent travelers to group tourists shifted from the previous 5:5 to 7:3. Particularly, the return rate of independent travelers reached as high as 5%, which has led Thailand to remain optimistic about the bilateral tourism market. In addition to forecasting a 4% growth in Taiwanese visitors to Thailand in 2014, the authority is also considering discussing visa exemption for Taiwanese travelers to show appreciation for their support of the Thai tourism market.”
