The highly anticipated "Hsinchu International Anime Art Festival," awaited by anime fans nationwide, grandly kicked off on May 3rd at Neiwan Station of Taiwan Railways in Hsinchu County. The event opened with the "Super Popular Anime Character Parade at the Happy Station," featuring large, hugely popular anime figures from Japan as well as Hsinchu’s locally beloved PiPi Lion and Five-Colored Bird, all joining in the fun with both kids and adults. In addition, Hsinchu County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun dressed up as a train conductor to hand out 1,000 carnations together with the giant characters, wishing all mothers a happy holiday.

This event invites popular Japanese anime characters, including Keroro the Space Trooper, Ninja Hattori, Yume-iro Patissiere, Dae Jang Geum, Monster Hunter’s Arowana, along with Hsinchu’s PiPi Lion and Five-Colored Bird, to parade through five locations at the Neiwan event site. Visitors can interact and take photos with the popular characters while at the station or strolling the old street, making it great for family outings.
Additionally,visitors who take photos with the characters on-site can receive special small gifts. After taking a photo with any character, participants can upload the picture to the Facebook fan page “Neiwan Dream Railway – Taiwan Manga Dream Factory” to redeem a limited-edition, beautifully designed small gift at the event’s information desk.It’s fun and offers prizes, drawing an enthusiastic response from the crowd.
