During the 2014 Dragon Boat Festival holiday period, Taiwan High-Speed Rail will operate 87 additional train services (44 southbound and 43 northbound) over a five-day transport period from May 30 (Friday) to June 3 (Tuesday), providing a total of 762 train services. Additionally, 23 train services will be canceled or rescheduled (for the detailed Dragon Boat Festival transport timetable, please see the attached file). Passengers may pre-purchase round-trip tickets for the entire Dragon Boat Festival transport period starting from midnight on May 3 (Saturday).

To encourage the public to reunite and travel during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Taiwan High-Speed Rail is offering early-bird discounts on 544 train services during the transport period, accounting for over 70% of all services. Passengers who purchase tickets between 8 and 28 days before their travel date may enjoy early-bird discounts of 65%, 80%, or 90%.

During the Dragon Boat Festival transport period, all trains will maintain 3 to 4 cars with non-reserved seating. Passengers holding periodical tickets, round-trip tickets, or EasyCard co-branded cards (with auto-load enabled) can directly tap in and use the non-reserved seating.

Taiwan High-Speed Rail advises passengers to purchase tickets for the Dragon Boat Festival transport period through partner convenience stores, online booking systems, the “T Express” mobile ticketing app, the voice reservation system, or at ticket counters and vending machines at stations during operating hours. Passengers are encouraged to book in advance and take advantage of the more than 9,800 convenience store ticketing points and the convenience of the “T Express” service to collect tickets early. This allows for direct entry into the station upon arrival, saving time queuing for tickets and avoiding crowded stations.
