Japan’s one-month-only “Hydrangea Garden” – Tens of thousands of hydrangeas bloom along the hillside

Colorful and vibrant hydrangeas are among the most beautiful sights of early summer in Japan. In Morohara City, Chiba Prefecture, near Tokyo, there is a renowned hydrangea viewing spot called “Hattori Nouen Hydrangea Yashiki,” where over 10,000 hydrangeas are in full bloom from June 1 until early July.

Chiba Prefecture in Japan has several popular hydrangea viewing spots, but the most famous is “Hattori Nouen Hydrangea Yashiki.” Covering a total area of approximately 27,000 square meters, the garden features 300 varieties of hydrangeas with over 10,000 blossoms blooming among the wooded slopes. The site attracts many flower-viewing visitors every season it opens.

Tens of thousands of hydrangeas bloom along the sloped hillside, displaying a dazzling array of white, pink, purple, and blue-violet blooms. The colorful spectacle leaves visitors awestruck, with one commenting, “Looking up from the base of the hill, it looks like a hydrangea avalanche — absolutely spectacular!”

“Hattori Nouen Hydrangea Yashiki” officially opens on June 1 and remains accessible through early July. Admission is 500 yen for adults and 200 yen for children.
