The “2014 Tainan Golden Rain Tree Flower Festival,” hosted by the Tainan Tourism Bureau and launched on May 17, officially concluded on June 15. To attract visitors to the Hutoupi Scenic Area to enjoy the blossoms and boost surrounding tourism economic benefits, the event offered special prizes including three iPad minis and ten Hutoupi Gold Cards. Visitors could enjoy the flowers and also participate in lucky draws for great rewards. It is estimated that a total of 28,000 people visited the park during the event period, an increase of nearly 20% compared to last year, showing strong public participation.

The Tourism Bureau expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic public participation in the event. This year’s Tainan Golden Rain Tree Flower Festival garnered significant attention and response online, with the photography competition attracting nearly 1,500 entries. The event brought substantial business opportunities to seven Golden Rain Tree viewing areas as well as nearby tourist attractions and dining spots. The Golden Rain Tree Flower Festival will definitely continue next year, with ongoing updates to the flower-viewing map. The aim is to provide visitors with a relaxing stroll and a romantic flower-viewing experience every May and June.

To ensure a fair and transparent lucky draw process, a public drawing ceremony was held. Consumer Protection Officer Lin Kuo-chen was invited to witness the event, which was fully recorded. Department Chief Chang Yuan-bo drew the lucky winners of three iPad minis and ten Hutoupi Gold Cards from 9,536 raffle tickets. The winners are as follows: iPad mini winners – Cheng ○, Su ○-hua, Chen ○-fang; Hutoupi Gold Card winners – Shih ○-su, Hsu ○-hsin, Chiu ○-en, Chen ○-kuo, Kang Li ○-mei, Wu ○-ming, Kuo ○-wei, Kan ○-he, Pan ○-song, Wu ○-kuei.
