The 16th Taipei Film Festival kicks off on June 27th !
Entering its 16th year, the Taipei Film Festival returns with a fresh look for audiences. The festival features film screenings, the Taipei Film Awards competition, the International New Talent Competition, as well as the annual highlight for Taiwanese filmmakers — the Taipei Film Awards Ceremony — along with numerous fringe events, inviting movie lovers to enjoy a summer dedicated to cinema.
This year’s visual identity is inspired by a photographer’s toolkit, with accessories assembled from a toolbox like a butterfly born on the shoulder of the photographer. It symbolizes how cinematic imagery is brought to life by these behind-the-scenes creators, representing a pair of wings that help films take flight. The selected design, chosen through an open call, uses vibrant, playful colors to represent the energetic spirit of movie fans. The lens is stylized into block-like shapes against a richly layered background, creating a strong visual impact.
This year’s festival venues include Taipei Zhongshan Hall, Taipei Xin Guang Cinemas, and Spot Huashan Cinema.
