Tokyo Tower holds a special Tanabata event every year, and this year is no exception, once again presenting the "Amanogawa Galaxy Light Festival" themed around the Milky Way in the summer night sky. Originally scheduled to run only until July 7, Tanabata Day, due to overwhelming positive feedback, the event has been extended to August 31. Every evening, the inside and outside of Tokyo Tower will glow with blue fluorescence, making it seem as if the Milky Way is right before your eyes.

This year marks the tenth edition of the event at Tokyo Tower, which continues to go all out to enhance its visual appeal. This year, 27,000 lights have been used to extensively decorate the first floor of the Main Observatory, and the 600 steps from the exterior staircase to the Main Observatory have also been adorned with blue LED light balls. With a total of 52,000 fluorescent lights both inside and out, the nighttime scenery of Tokyo Tower becomes even more dreamy and romantic.

The lighting schedule for the exterior staircase lights is from 17:00 to 21:00 on weekdays, and extended from 11:00 to 21:00 on Fridays through Sundays. Meanwhile, the Amanogawa Galaxy lights on the Main Observatory shine daily from 17:00 to 22:00. The event runs from June 1 to August 31, with the exception of July 22 when the lights are turned off due to other events. The fluorescent lights will continue to shine beautifully at Tokyo Tower throughout the summer, with the Amanogawa Galaxy stretching across the season.
