The former "Ganglin Branch of Zuozhen Elementary School," which was closed in 2006, has been transformed into the "Zuozhen Moon World Eco-Park." It now serves as a venue for ecological workshops and scout training, and features five“camping pipes,” which will officially open on August 3, offering camping enthusiasts a unique way to experience the outdoors.

The Ganglin Branch of Zuozhen Elementary School in Zuozhen District, Tainan City, was closed on July 1, 2006.The Tainan City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau considered that the Ganglin Elementary School is close to the Erliau sunrise viewing spot in Zuozhen and the unique badland terrain of the Moon World, making it an ideal location for combining ecological education with hands-on experiences.Therefore, in January 2010, it borrowed part of the campus space to set up the “Zuozhen Moon World Travel Service Center” to serve visitors and promote local tourism resources.

In August 2013, the bureau further took over the management of part of the campus facilities and planned to establish the “Zuozhen Moon World Eco-Park,” while also commencing the second phase of environmental improvement projects, aiming to provide the public with a more comprehensive ecological experience base. Among these, the much-anticipated“camping pipes” are a new type of camping experience space, newly built in the second phase of the project, drawing inspiration from both domestic and international examples.

The Tainan City Tourism and Travel Bureau stated that promoting eco-tourism and making Tainan a tourist paradise is a goal the city government is committed to achieving. The five camping pipes set up in the Zuozhen Moon World Eco-Park not only offer shelter from wind and rain but also include lighting, electricity, and air conditioning inside the pipes, making camping more convenient and diverse. It is hoped that this will encourage more people to step outdoors, connect with nature, and enjoy Tainan’s unique eco-tourism experiences.
