Spring is the perfect time to admire cherry blossoms. The Sakura Promenade at Wushantou Reservoir in Tainan is currently in full bloom, with rows of delicate pink trees and petals scattered on the asphalt road, creating a pink carpet – it's incredibly romantic!

These dreamy cherry blossom trees are the most iconic "South Sea Peony" cherries in Wushantou Reservoir. These trees are actually over 80 years old and were personally planted by Yoichi Hatta, known as the father of the Chianan Irrigation System, and his wife, making them very historically significant. Today, they offer a breathtaking view at the reservoir. The sight of the South Sea Peony blossoms swaying in the wind attracts many visitors every year who come to take photos and witness this beautiful scenery.
Wushantou Reservoir was also built by Yoichi Hatta.
South Sea Peony cherry blossoms usually begin to bloom fully in mid-March, but due to the warm winter and rising temperatures this year, they have bloomed earlier. Currently, about 70% of the blossoms are out. Coupled with the consecutive holidays, it’s the perfect time for flower viewing. In addition to the Sakura Promenade, the Wushantou Reservoir Scenic Area also offers many other cherry blossom sights. The park also features blooming golden shower trees and kapok flowers, which are currently in season.
The Wushantou Reservoir Scenic Area is also offering a winter ticket promotion – all tickets are priced at NT$100. During the 228 Holiday, there’s also a special offer: if you purchase tickets worth NT$250 or more between February 28 and March 3, you will receive a NT$250 solar-powered sightseeing boat ticket for Wushantou, limited to 50 per day and while supplies last.
