To celebrate the completion of the "National Taichung Theater," designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the Taichung City Cultural Affairs Bureau specially organized the "Opera House Light Art Festival – Fantastical Metamorphosis," a series of events from November 1 to December 31 lasting two months. In addition to projecting stunning"3D light projection art" on the exterior walls of the Opera House, there will also be a two-month-long "interactive light art installation" outdoors.Both are curated and executed by the branding creative company Sabakama. The light art festival combines the architectural form of the Opera House to create astonishing sound-light and landscape interactive art.

Fantastical Metamorphosis reinterprets artistic creation with the boundless tension of transformation and rebirth, ushering in a new era of visual art. The on-site displays combine music, light, digital media, video, and interactive artworks, allowing visitors to experience various breathtaking sound-light and landscape art forms, embarking on a magical audio-visual journey after nightfall.

The series of events include the stunning "3D light projection" on the exterior walls of the Opera House, as well as the captivating outdoor "interactive light art installations." An electronic time tunnel renovated from shipping containers. Stepping into this uniquely designed space feels like entering a continuously expanding multidimensional realm, where every step you take activates responsive sound and light effects, creating an energizing atmosphere.
Light Reed WINDIODE
Electronic reeds sway gently in the wind, slowly changing the color of their tips, presenting a poetic scene. Sabakama’s design director Anthony Soames mentioned that this interactive artwork is one of the most beloved among Taichung residents.

Projecting highly visual 3D light sculptures onto the 120-meter-wide exterior wall of the National Theater. Created by Sabakama Creative, in collaboration with Delta Electronics’ world-class projection technology, and featuring live interactive performances by the M-AI International Orchestra. Through narrative techniques, the event explores the dialogue between art, nature, evolution, and organic architecture, showcasing the theater’s rich design elements and the profound cultural heritage of Greater Taichung.
