Organized by the Taiwan Association for Human Rights and various anti-forced relocation groups,the "Aerospace City Land Art Festival" debuted on November 8th on farmland at Bagu Road in Luzhu Districtand featured artworks created by local residents and volunteers. Among them, the eight-meter-tall installation titled “Lost Little Bear” was particularly eye-catching, going head-to-head with Florentijn Hofman’s Moon Rabbit. Through these community-built art pieces, organizers mounted an alternative form of protest—satirizing the Taoyuan Land Art Festival held by the government in September, and voicing dissatisfaction over the forced land expropriation carried out by the Taoyuan government to push forward the Aerospace City project, which displaced many residents from their homes.

Aside from the captivating“Lost Little Bear,”the Aerospace City Land Art Festival also features“The Scarecrow’s Counterattack”in Suiwei, Hongzhu Village,“The Life and Memories of Hometown”in San Kuai Cuo. With a total of three exhibition sites, the festival is expected to run for nine days. Jointly funded by residents with NT$200,000, the event will continue until the 16th. The organizers have also arranged activities such as field games, music festivals, a steel factory cinema, wetland birdwatching, and bicycle tours, and everyone is welcome to join in.
