Taipei Metro’s Songshan Line officially opened on November 15. Among the eight stations along the line, the most eye-catching is undoubtedly the large-scale public art installation “Domain Vision” at Songshan Station. The vibrant colors of the “Blooming Light Dome” immediately became a star attraction for passengers as soon as it was unveiled, and online, many netizens have been comparing it to the “Dome of Light” at Formosa Boulevard Station, vying for the title of Taiwan’s most beautiful metro station.
● Songshan Station
Inspired by the original name of the Songshan Line, “Xikou,” which in the Pingpu language means “a convergence of winding rivers” and symbolizes a place where vitality gathers, the “Domain Vision” space interprets this poetic concept. It extends to the imagery of Songshan Station as “where the river bends, you encounter the Blooming Light Dome,” also symbolizing how the Songshan Line has now become a commercial hub that integrates land, sea, and air transport.

The large-scale public art installation “Domain Vision” is situated in the transfer corridor between Taipei Metro and Taiwan Railways at Songshan Station. The lofty ceiling features 50,250 LED lights and fluorescent tubes arranged in vertically staggered patterns, creating undulating shapes that offer a multi-layered, dynamic visual experience. Through computer programming, the installation illuminates dreamlike, colorful light displays that flow like a vibrant stream, successfully showcasing the rich historical origins of Songshan.
