Uzna Omom, a Japanese dessert shop from Harajuku, Tokyo, opened its first Taiwan branch in Taipei’s East District in 2013 and has been beloved by Taiwanese customers ever since. Starting in 2014, the brand actively expanded its presence, moving into shopping malls, which further boosted its popularity and brand recognition. Its Japanese flavors and service have won over many customers, making it a consistently packed pancake shop.

The dining space of Uzna Omom in Tokyo’s Harajuku also incorporates art exhibitions, with large wall areas serving as display spaces for paintings. The presentation of food at Uzna Omom is also very refined. From the selection of tableware to the color scheme, the style is fresh, bright, and vibrant. Pancakes are usually served on white plates, allowing the already eye-catching pancakes to take center stage. The tea sets and dishware feature a blue polka dot pattern, exuding a simple yet warm and cozy vibe. Every dish is a visual delight.

In addition to all-day pancake sets, Uzna Omom also offers breakfast pancakes available only in the morning. Beyond desserts, the menu also includes savory options such as salads, rice sets, and lasagna sets to satisfy “non-dessert” cravings. Among the pancakes, the “Thick Pancake Series” is especially popular. On one hand, the cute appearance of the thick pancakes is very appealing, and their 8cm thickness—made up of two layers—has become a hot topic. On the other hand, the soft and fluffy texture of the thick pancakes, made with Hokkaido fresh cream and local free-range eggs, is freshly made to order and has received high praise, sparking a trend for “soufflé pancakes.”

Uzna Omom also pays great attention to ingredients and pairings. Seasonal menus feature fruits such as peaches and strawberries paired with pancakes, offering sweet yet refreshing flavors that perfectly complement the pancakes. The spring-themed Spring Blossom Sakura Pancake, launched on March 5th, has sparked discussions among dessert lovers and cherry blossom enthusiasts.
