Typhoon Wutip (international name), the second typhoon of the season, has intensified into a severe typhoon. It is moving northwestward at a speed of 9 km/h and poses no threat to Taiwan. Travelers planning to visit Japan soon should stay alert.

Due to the southward movement of the cold air mass, a stationary front extends from the South China Sea near Guangdong southwestward to Laos, coupled with cloud and rain areas in southern China, leading to cooler weather in northern and northeastern Taiwan. Other regions will be cold in the morning and evening. Areas north of central Taiwan, northeastern Taiwan, eastern Taiwan, as well as Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu will experience rainfall. There is also a chance of localized heavier rainfall in the northern and northeastern regions, as well as in the mountainous areas of central Taiwan. Other regions may see localized brief showers.

On Monday, the 25th, influenced by the northeastern monsoon and the cloud and rain area from southern China, the northern and northeastern parts of Taiwan will still be relatively cool, while other regions will also be cool in the morning and evening. There will still be brief showers in the northern part of Taiwan and the eastern half of the island, with localized brief showers also possible in the mountainous areas of central and southern Taiwan. Northern temperatures will range between 15～17 degrees Celsius, while central and southern temperatures will be higher, around 16～24 degrees Celsius, with a larger temperature difference. Clearer weather is expected by Tuesday.
