Following the openings of Chun Shui Tang and Wei Re Shan Jiao in Japan, ICE MONSTER—a beloved Taiwanese mango ice brand popular among Japanese tourists—grandly debuted on April 29, 2015, in the bustling Omotesando district of Tokyo！
 

On opening day, over a thousand people queued up, with the first 300 customers eligible for a free ICE MONSTER ice cream as part of the launch promotion. However, the numbered tickets had already been all given out. Since the store’s unveiling in Omotesando, it has generated buzz and marketing exposure, leading to massive queues on opening day. The appearance of Hello Kitty at the event further boosted its popularity and appeal.

 

Taiwanese bubble tea drinks have become quite popular in Japan in recent years. For this collaboration with Japanese partners, ICE MONSTER aimed to highlight bubble tea-flavored frozen treats, but its signature mango ice remains the most favored. Pricing includes “Mango Cotton Snow” for 1,500 yen (approx. NT$380), “Bubble Tea Cotton Snow” for 1,000 yen (approx. NT$255), and the Japan-exclusive “Oolong Tea Cotton Snow” for 1,200 yen. The seasonal summer special “Pineapple Cotton Snow” is priced the same as mango ice at 1,500 yen. Other flavors include coffee and strawberry, bringing the total to six types of frozen treats, plus two types of ice cream—Mango Splash and Strawberry Splash (both 500 yen)—which have captivated Japanese consumers.
