The treehouse café in Yujing, Tainan, is named “Hidden Field Treehouse,” created by the owners of the homestay “Hidden Field Mountain House.” The couple spent several years building their dream garden nestled among lush green mountains. Although it’s called a treehouse, it’s not actually built atop a large tree. Instead, there is a jujube tree inside the house. When the original house was built, a skylight was created to preserve this jujube tree, allowing natural light in and letting the tree grow freely, while also bringing a touch of greenery into the interior space. In addition to the indoor tree, Hidden Field Treehouse features large floor-to-ceiling windows all around, so whether you’re sitting indoors or outdoors, you can enjoy delicious Western meals and desserts while taking in the lush tree sea scenery around Yujing—offering wide views that help you relax. Furthermore, because of the higher elevation, the shop thoughtfully provides warm blankets for guests to use in case they feel chilly.
