● Lotus

The pure and elegant lotus blooms in June. The annual “Baihe Lotus Festival” in Tainan’s Baihe District kicks off on June 7th. As the region with the largest lotus cultivation area in Taiwan, Baihe is also known as the “Lotus Town.” To make it more convenient for visitors to enjoy the lotuses, the Tainan City Government has launched a “Lotus Viewing Bus.” With an electronic ticket, passengers can ride for free (within 8 kilometers), all while leisurely admiring the vibrant lotus blossoms along the way and enjoying a slow-paced journey.

Additionally, in central Taiwan’s Nantou, the coconut-lined boulevard at the entrance of Zhongxing New Village is currently lined with blooming lotuses, even more splendid than in previous years, with the optimal viewing period expected to last until early June.

● Alpine Azaleas

Beyond the sea of flowers on the plains, the annual high-mountain azalea season has arrived at Hehuanshan National Forest Recreation Area. From now until the end of May is the best time to view these blooms. Hike up to admire the peaks of Hehuanshan while taking in the beautiful sight of alpine azaleas in full flower — a truly refreshing experience.
