The 2014 LED Rose Garden exhibition at Seoul’s new landmark, Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), was a short-term display that captivated visitors with its magical and romantic sea of blossoms, beloved by travelers from around the world. Originally planned for a one-month run, the exhibition was repeatedly extended due to its immense popularity. Now, starting April 18, DDP is once again hosting the LED Rose Sea, which is expected to run until February 29, 2016, keeping the snow-white floral display lighting up the nights of Dongdaemun.

The LED Rose Garden exhibition was a special display prepared by the renowned watch brand OMEGA to promote its new product line. Over 20,000 roses were “planted” in the central plaza of Dongdaemun Design Plaza, creating a breathtaking LED rose sea. The sight of countless roses lighting up together at night even caught the attention of international superstar Nicole Kidman. Though initially slated for just one month, the exhibition was extended multiple times due to public demand. Starting April 18, DDP relaunched the event, and on May 30, 1,600 pandas made a surprise one-afternoon visit to the rose garden. This whimsical scene delighted many lucky visitors. Travelers planning a shopping trip to Dongdaemun before the end of February next year shouldn’t miss the chance to snap photos at the lawn plaza.
