The character in the film draws heavily from his real experiences, which is what makes his success story so compelling. For the Tycoon himself, happiness doesn’t come from wealth or status, but from the smiles of those around him. The filmmakers made the deliberate choice to turn this true story into a movie, aiming to share the essence of the story with a wider audience and spark discussions on social issues, community support, human kindness, and interpersonal warmth. We hope that through this film, modern society can rediscover the value of genuine human connection and the strength that comes from unexpected bonds.

In “What the Tycoon Taught Me,” a stellar cast brings the story to life. Tsutsumi Shinichi plays the Tycoon, sporting curly hair throughout the film and delivering a series of humorous and witty lines that had the theater audience erupting in laughter. Ono Machiko, known for her leading role in an NHK morning drama, plays the female lead with mature and compelling acting that impressed everyone. The cool and handsome eye doctor, Ryu, is portrayed by the immensely popular Tamaki Hiroshi, whose cool and dashing image charmed audiences. The film was released in Taiwan on June 12.
