Tainan’s long-established beverage shop, Sister Guo Tea House, has relocated to the vicinity of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi and Big City in Taichung due to the expiration of its lease. Just days after opening, it has already caused a sensation in Taichung, attracting many customers who came specifically for it, forming long queues, and there are even reports of people waiting up to five hours just to buy a drink.

Sister Guo Tea House has been operating in Tainan for 20 years, offering more than ten types of drinks, each priced between NT$20 and NT$50. The shop emphasizes using healthy brown sugar instead of fructose, and every drink comes packed with generous, high-value ingredients. Its image of quality and substance has made Sister Guo Tea House very popular with tourists, almost a must-visit beverage spot in Tainan’s Anping District. Among its most popular items is the unsweetened fresh milk boba, which contains no added water or sugar. The boba pearls are simmered in brown sugar syrup over a low flame for two hours every day. Each bite of the chewy pearls delivers a rich aroma of brown sugar. Paired with premium, creamy fresh milk imported from the United States, both the texture and flavor leave an unforgettable impression on those who try it.

Currently, because Sister Guo Tea House in Taichung has only just opened and hasn’t had time to hire additional staff, there is only one person running the shop. No reservations or deliveries are accepted, and each number is limited to purchasing only six black sugar boba fresh milk drinks. With the long lines, customers eager for a taste will need to be a bit patient.
