For years, I’ve wanted to plan a trip centered around cycling. To gradually achieve this goal, I decided to use Tamsui as my test case—experiencing cycling in an unfamiliar place while also carrying photography gear for carefree exploration. Tamsui itself is a popular tourist destination, packed with attractions and eateries, and you can even enjoy the sunset along the river, making it a great place for a relaxing vacation. For cyclists, you can ride from Tamsui all the way to Taipei Harbor, but I chose to rent a bike in Tamsui Old Street and cycle to Sanzhi. Along the way, you can enjoy the blossoms, and there are also many charming cafés in Sanzhi where I could unwind.

To complement such a cycling trip, I chose to stay at “HowToTrip – Tamsui Breeze,” located near Fisherman’s Wharf. Take the MRT to Tamsui Station and transfer to the Red26(or836,837)bus, get off at the Towing Yard Station, and it only takes about10-15minutes to arrive.
