Taking the train is more convenient！Taiwan Railways has launched its multi-card electronic ticketing service. Starting June 30, passengers can use electronic tickets such as EasyCard, Taiwan Smart Card, Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection, and iPASS to ride Taiwan Railways’ Fu-Hsing Semi-Express, Tzu-Chiang Limited Express, and Local Trains, traveling between Su’ao, Taipei, and Pingtung across a total of 164 stations, and enjoy a 10% discount on Local Train fares.

Taiwan Railways stated that with the addition of central Taiwan and Yilan regions, passengers with electronic tickets can now ride Fu-Hsing Semi-Express, Tzu-Chiang Limited Express, and Local Trains regardless of distance, and the 10% discount on Local Train fares will be temporarily maintained. It should be noted that, in order to maintain the riding quality of Tzu-Chiang Limited Express and ensure fair payment, and considering insufficient capacity on some routes, the use of electronic tickets on Tzu-Chiang Limited Express trains will be limited to70kilometers or less. For distances exceeding70kilometers, the full Tzu-Chiang Limited Express fare will apply. The Puyuma, Taroko Express, as well as group trains and cruise trains that do not issue platform tickets, remain unavailable for electronic ticket use.
