Situated in Hualien County, Taroko National Park is a scenic area in Taiwan established in 1986. It is home to numerous unique natural attractions, particularly its steep cliffs, deep canyons, high mountains, forests, and other spectacular landscapes. Additionally, the park hosts a diverse range of flora and fauna, including wildlife such as the salamander that dates back to the Ice Age.

The park features astonishingly deep canyons, originally formed by the erosive action of rivers cutting through marble and granite. Adventurous visitors can walk along trails built on cliffs hundreds of meters high, where winding paths offer breathtaking views of endless mountain peaks above or the awe-inspiring, mighty rivers below the deep canyons.

Exploring the countless natural wonders of Taroko National Park requires at least a day or two. Moreover, visitors can reach Taroko by car, train, bus, or plane to Hualien City, from where it’s very convenient to access the park.
