Spin through the Rainbow Tunnel as the Qingjing Windmill Festival Kicks Off in Color

The annual “Qingjing Summer Windmill Festival” officially kicked off on July 4th this year. This year features a massive windmill themed “Sheep Strolling Through the Clouds,” along with over ten hand-painted windmills and tens of thousands of small Spanish-style windmills arranged into vibrant decorative formations that stand out vividly against the canvas of blue skies, white clouds, and green fields. Additionally, to promote the culture of the Yunnan Bai people, this year’s organizers have adopted the theme “Colorful Yunnan,” crafting decorations such as a peacock totem using windmills. The event also offers Yunnan costume rentals and live musical performances, inviting everyone to come to Qingjing and sway to the rhythm of Bai and Han cultures together.

The Qingjing Windmill Festival is a signature annual cultural and tourism art event in the Qingjing area, mainly held at two locations: the Qingjing Farm Guanshan Grazing Area and the Little Switzerland Garden. This year’s festival runs from July 4th to August 22nd. In addition to the massive “Sheep Strolling Through the Clouds” themed windmill, the landscape art created by tens of thousands of small Spanish windmills, and the rainbow windmill tunnel, the lush green fields under the blue sky and white clouds present a uniquely romantic and joyful ambiance found only in Taiwan. To promote Yunnan Bai culture, the organizers are also offering Yunnan costume rentals during the event. On weekends, there will be performances featuring the traditional Yunnan instrument “Hulusi.” This summer, head to Qingjing Farm, climb high, and take in the one-of-a-kind views of the Qingjing Windmill Festival, while enjoying the fun of dancing with the wind alongside adorable sheep.
