FUN4 Explore Hualien: Four Major Themed Zones Launch Simultaneously!

No worries about having nothing to do in Hualien this summer — the city has launched the “FUN 4” event, featuring four major themed zones: the 3D Kids’ Water Park, Dongmen Night Market, Zhikaxuan Green Forest Water Park, and Pacific Park. Together, these cover nearly 80 hectares of land, revitalizing formerly idle and abandoned spaces. After redesign and greening efforts, they now present a brand-new landscape on the left bank of the Pacific, offering visitors a great chance to explore, experience local enthusiasm, and soak up boundless joy.

● Hualien 3D Kids’ Water Park

Located in Fenglin Township, this 22-hectare venue hosted the “2015 Hualien Adventure Season – 3D Children’s Festival,” which ran for 36 days. The event offered a rich variety of activities, including vibrant hot air balloon experiences, various water play facilities, and 18 themed pavilions such as the 3D Art Gallery, Anime & Movie Zone, Building Blocks Museum, Cosplay Area, Happy Reading Corner, and Kids’ Play Zone. There’s fun for both adults and children, making it a top summer destination in Hualien.

● Dongmen Night Market

Situated in downtown Hualien, this 9-hectare night market features the Sunshine Electric City, Futing Night Market, Aisle of Provincial Cuisines from Mainland China, and Indigenous Peoples’ Street, showcasing the area’s diverse cultural and culinary offerings. During the Summer Love Carnival, it draws non-stop crowds, with long lines at every stall. The county government invited internationally renowned 3D art master Tulon to personally lead his design team in painting and beautifying 20 power boxes across the site. The vibrant, three-dimensional colors instantly enlivened the space, attracting many young people to unleash their creativity and snap playful, meme-worthy photos — sparking a craze on Facebook.
