Located at the highest point along Provincial Highway 102 in New Taipei City, at the junction of Shuangxi and Jiufen, “Buyan Pavilion” not only offers views of Ruifang but also showcases the distant blue seascape, and is hailed as one of Taiwan’s most beautiful highway vistas. On the 30th, it was reported that someone had used white spray paint to scrawl vulgar messages such as “Die, Taiwanese,” “Entitled Brat,” and “Die, Little Shit” on the surrounding red pillars. After the public photographed the damage, they shared the images online to express their outrage.

The scenery at Buyan Pavilion is stunningly beautiful. From this high vantage point, you can gaze across the entire landscape of Shuangxi District on one side and look far toward Ruifang on the other. On clear days, the distant blue sea comes into view, and at certain times, even sea of clouds can be spotted. This picturesque mountaintop scene not only frequently attracts photography enthusiasts but is also a dream destination for many motorcyclists and tourists.
