Typhoon Soudelor hit Taiwan, toppling numerous trees and signboards due to the fierce winds, leaving the area in ruins. Yet, the strong gusts also unexpectedly gave rise to a viral sensation.Located at the intersection of Nanjing and Longjiang Roads, a red and a green postbox were accidentally knocked askew by a fallen signboard, resulting in their adorable “leaning” posture. Their cuteness attracted many passersby to take photos with them, even striking the “Apache Sister” pose for group shots. Dubbed the “most adorable postboxes,” they have become an alternative new attraction.

To avoid disrupting traffic and ensure road safety, Chunghwa Post announced that the leaning postboxes will be relocated next week to the location of the Beitou Post Office on Taipei’s Bo’ai Road. The postal service will also place an explanatory sign nearby to remind visitors of the importance of typhoon preparedness. Furthermore, after the move, there will no longer be postal staff stationed by the postboxes for photo ops, so visitors eager to take pictures with both the postman and the postboxes should act quickly.
