The Zhongzheng Bridge, which connects the traffic of Zhubei, Xhuqin, and Zhudong townships and cities, officially opened to traffic on the 17th. In addition to significantly shortening travel time between the three areas, the bridge, which stands 83.5 meters tall, has also become the highest bridge in northern Taiwan.

The Zhongzheng Bridge has a total length of 855.3 meters and a width of 30 meters. It draws inspiration from the Ming Dynasty painting “Bamboo in the Wind” by Tang Yin. The asymmetrical cable-stayed design reduces the number of piers, minimizing the impact of river erosion on the bridge's structural safety. The main bridge tower stands 83.5 meters tall, with its foundation embedded 28 meters deep into the riverbed, making it the tallest bridge structure in northern Taiwan. Originally opened in the late 1980s, the Zhongzheng Bridge faced structural concerns due to multiple typhoons washing down debris from upstream, leading to an 80-meter section of the bridge collapsing. In 2014, the Hsinchu County Government initiated a reconstruction project, and after a year of renovation, the bridge has made a stunning return in its new form.
