Banqiao District is packed with unique brunch spots, so standing out requires some truly creative moves. Recently, near Jiangzicui Station, a new standing-only sandwich shop with a strong Japanese aesthetic called “Little Sunny Sky” has emerged, specializing in Japanese-style sandwiches, deep-fried mantou (steamed buns), and other traditional Japanese snacks. Paired with an eye-catching Inaho Shrine nearby, it has become a much-talked-about local gem.

Little Sunny Sky is located at a triangular intersection next to Jiangcui Junior High School, just about a 10-minute walk from Jiangzicui MRT Station. Its simple storefront paired with a bright red shrine torii gate gives off a distinctly Japanese feel. The shop mainly offers a variety of uniquely flavored Japanese sandwiches. Aside from its compact space, customers can only order at the counter for takeout or enjoy their meal standing.

The shop offers a wide range of distinctive sandwich flavors. The bread used is specially custom-made milk bread requested from a local bakery by Little Sunny Sky. The toasted bread has a slight golden hue — not only does it look appealing, but its crispy exterior and soft interior deliver a subtle toastiness and creamy aroma. Topped with plenty of shredded cabbage and specially marinated meat, every bite offers a layered texture and bursts of delicious happiness.
