● Netherlands Fort Bourtange
Fort Bourtange is located in a small village in the western part of Groningen Province. This 17th-century Dutch star-shaped fortress was primarily used for defensive purposes during wartime, and features a symmetrical radial architectural layout around the fort.

● New Zealand Hobbiton
This private farm located in the southwestern suburbs of Matamata is home to Hobbiton, a stunning location unexpectedly discovered by Peter Jackson, director of The Lord of the Rings. Utilizing the natural terrain of the farm, the film crew built a mill, an arched bridge, 37 hobbit holes, and even had assistance from the New Zealand military in constructing a 1.5 km road. After filming wrapped up, the farm owner reached an agreement with the movie company to preserve parts of the set, allowing visitors the chance to walk through the iconic Hobbiton from the films.

● Republic of Malta Sweethaven Village
To adapt the classic American cartoon Popeye into a live-action film, Hollywood built a real-life Sweethaven Village in the small European country of Malta. The village’s 19 wooden houses were imported from Canada and the Netherlands, constructed over seven months in the style of the 1920s. It includes a barber shop, bakery, sawmill, post office, and even a cemetery... After filming ended, the locals requested that it be preserved.

● Faroe Islands, Denmark Gasadalur Village
Gasadalur Village is located on the cliffs of the Faroe Islands in Denmark. Its isolated environment gives off a mysterious vibe, with just over ten villagers living a slow and comfortable life.

● Italy Burano Island
Burano Island on Lake Venice in Italy is known for its lace weaving. The colorful buildings originated from fishermen needing to see their way home through thick fog, and have since become a local landmark. Residents must obtain government permission if they wish to repaint their homes.
