The number of “Taiwan Sightseeing Buses” has surpassed 100, benefiting both domestic and international travelers who prefer relaxed, light travel. With the addition of smart tourism services, convenience has been taken to the next level. Since 2004, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has been guiding travel agencies to operate “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” package tours, with over 1.85 million participants to date. Deputy Director Liu Xilin of the Tourism Bureau stated that the primary goal of the “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” is service quality, followed by increasing ridership. As a result, in recent years, there have been significant improvements in both hardware and software aspects. Chairman Lü Weide of the “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus Association” also praised that with the addition of smart tourism services, the “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” has evolved into a version 2.0, also driving an upgrade in quality.

According to statistics from the Tourism Bureau, nearly 60% of “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” passengers are international tourists. Therefore, starting this year, all buses are equipped with audio guides in four languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean. Passengers can freely choose information about attractions and travel tips along the way based on their individual needs. Foreign visitors can overcome language barriers, get closer to Taiwanese culture, make travel borderless, and enjoy free Wi-Fi services during the tour, allowing them to share Taiwan’s beautiful scenery with the world through the internet and social media, bringing Taiwan and the world closer together.

The “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” now offers over 100 travel routes and has added its first-ever round-the-island tour route, making it more convenient to explore Taiwan’s unique attractions. Popular spots such as Yilan, Northeast Coast, Yehliu, Tamsui, Taichung, Lukang, Sun Moon Lake, Kaohsiung, Kenting, Taroko, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu are all easily accessible. In addition to a variety of recreational experiences including DIY activities, the “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” also allows travelers to indulge in local specialty cuisines.
