World’s Largest MUJI Flagship Store Debuts in Tokyo with Books and Secondhand Clothes

The Muji store in Tokyo’s Yurakucho area reopened on September 4 after renovation. This brand-new Muji spans three floors with a total floor area of 3,277 square meters, making it the largest Muji store in the world with the most comprehensive product selection. It integrates all recent operational concepts and offers a completely new interpretation of what Muji stands for.

Following the opening of the first Muji bookstore in Fukuoka’s Hakata, which sparked widespread discussion and attention, the Yurakucho Muji store has also carefully curated over ten thousand books. In collaboration with architectural design firm Atelier Bow-Wow, the bookshelves were designed to stretch continuously from the first floor to the second, resembling a bridge made entirely of books and becoming the most eye-catching display in the store.

On the third floor, in addition to an abundant display of Muji household items, the biggest highlight is the two services introduced under the “MUJI HOUSE” project. These include the INFILL+ service, which assists with partial renovations of spaces, as well as the newly added INFILL 0 service that helps restore renovated spaces back to their original state to explore new possibilities. Both services provide customers with a variety of interior decoration consultations and planning options.
