From the afternoon of the 20th to the 21st, the center of Typhoon Koppu entered the Bashi Channel. Its northward path approaching land still needs observation. The current forecast predicts that after moving north, it will approach Taiwan from the eastern surface, and the affected areas still need close monitoring. Taiwan will be affected by the typhoon for the entire week ahead, with more unstable climate changes. Be sure to carry rain gear, watch out for strong winds, and make typhoon preparedness plans.

Typhoon Koppu continues moving northward toward Taiwan. The Central Weather Bureau does not rule out issuing a sea typhoon warning between the afternoon and evening of the 20th. The eastern half of Taiwan must guard against heavy rain and sudden strong winds. Since the typhoon continues to weaken and its forward speed is slow, but it will definitely bring abundant moisture and heavy rain, ongoing observation of its weather impact is necessary.
Typhoon Koppu weakened to a tropical depression at 8:00 AM on the 20th, with a central pressure of 1000 hPa, located at 19.4°N, 122.4°E, that is, in the offshore waters northeast of Luzon Island in the Philippines, moving slowly northeast. Ships navigating or operating in the Bashi Channel and the seas east of Taiwan should pay special attention. Yilan, Hualien, Taitung, mountainous areas of New Taipei City, Tainan, Chiayi, and Pingtung should be alert for heavy rain warnings.
